Empowering the Next Generation: Intasite Hosts Year 9 Students for a Hands-On STEM & Leadership Day

At Intasite, we believe in the power of education, opportunity, and innovation. That’s why we were thrilled to welcome a group of Year 9 students for a hands-on work experience day, designed to inspire and empower young minds through STEM education, leadership, and career development.

This initiative was part of the Power of Women’s Female Empowerment Programme, in collaboration with the Office of the Police Crime Commissioner for Cleveland and Stockton Borough Council’s Safer Streets 5 project. The programme works closely with North Shore Academy students, helping them develop confidence, explore career opportunities, and break down gender stereotypes in the workplace.

A Day of Learning, Creativity, and Inspiration

Throughout the day, the students took part in interactive sessions covering key areas such as:

  • Decision-Making & Leadership
  • Financial Planning & Entrepreneurship
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Career Paths in Digital & Tech

One of the highlights was a practical, hands-on session with our audio-visual team, where the students had the opportunity to create their own health and safety induction video for LevelQ, a commercial office space in Stockton. Seeing their ideas come to life in a professional production environment was not only exciting but also gave them real-world insight into the creative and tech industries.

“It was great to see the creativity and enthusiasm the students brought to the project. Helping them turn their ideas into a professional health and safety video was a rewarding experience, and we hope it gave them valuable insight into the possibilities within the tech and digital industries.”

— Paul Martin, Creative Director at Intasite

Our Commitment to Young Talent

This initiative builds on our ongoing commitment to providing opportunities for young people—something we’re incredibly passionate about. Recently, we took this a step further by hiring our first apprentice, Kayhan Kajumi, a Software Developer Apprentice in collaboration with Middlesbrough College. Kayhan, a T-Level graduate in Digital, Production, Design & Development, is a fantastic addition to our team, and we’re excited to support more young talent in the future.

At Intasite, we don’t just want to innovate in safety technology—we want to help shape the future of our industry by supporting the next generation of tech professionals.

“We hope the students enjoyed their time with us and found inspiration for their future career paths. They were a fantastic group to work with, and we had a wonderful afternoon sharing insights into the tech industry.”

— Danielle Croce, Commercial Director at Intasite

The Power of Women: Breaking Barriers & Building Futures

The Power of Women (POW) campaign is an incredible initiative, founded by North East business leaders and spearheaded by the late Professor Jane Turner OBE DL. It was driven by a Plan UK report naming Middlesbrough as the ‘Worst Place to Grow Up a Girl’, and its mission is to create better opportunities for young people across Tees Valley and beyond.

Claire Preston, Head of Operations at Power of Women, praised the success of the day:

“This is exactly the kind of experience young people need! The aim of POW is to promote equality of opportunity and break down gender stereotypes, showing students what’s possible—regardless of gender or postcode. The work we’re doing as part of the Safer Streets project focuses specifically on students in Stockton, and this day has done everything we’d hoped for and more.”

“The way Intasite engaged with the students to truly excite them about their business and work was brilliant and hugely appreciated.”

For us, this day was more than just an event—it was a chance to show young people the endless career possibilities in tech, safety, and digital industries.

Looking to the Future

This is just the beginning. At Intasite, we are committed to nurturing young talent, supporting STEM education, and continuing to provide opportunities for future innovators.

We want to thank the Power of Women campaign, Stockton Borough Council, and the Office of the Police Crime Commissioner for Cleveland for their support in making this initiative possible. Most importantly, thank you to the incredible students who joined us - you inspired us just as much as we hope we inspired you!
